Removal of Three Decayed Lombardy Poplars, West Didsbury
Three mature Lombardy poplar trees had developed extensive internal decay and were showing clear signs of structural weakness.
Located within a student accommodation complex in West Didsbury, the trees stood close to buildings, footpaths and regularly occupied outdoor ares, making safe removal a priority.
Using sectional dismantling techniques, each tree was carefully taken down in manageable sections to prevent damage to the surrounding property and minimise disruption to residents.
Once on the ground, the extent of the decay became obvious. Large cavities and advanced internal rot had significantly weakened the stems, confirming that removal was the safest long-term option.
